We here at Carbonfund.org would like to formally congratulate you on your victory last night. The race for the American presidency is the greatest challenges that one could undertake, regardless of the circumstances. But the road that you traveled was particularly inspiring as you built a broad based coalition that stretched across party lines and helped to unite America.
But with great accomplishments come great expectations. The environmental community will expect you to lead the fight to help us end global warming and make the clean energy future part of the present. Labor unions are hungry for job initiatives that will keep Americans employed. And our economy desperately needs real stimulus, not corporate hand outs.
The good news is that by comprehensively fighting global warming, we can accomplish all of the goals stated above. By committing America to the carbon emission reductions that the science demands, 80% by 2050, we can create American jobs, create American wealth, and create an American example that can be emulated the world round.
Groups like the Carbonfund.org have been fighting for years to hasten the transition to a clean energy economy and we hope that we have in a small way made this job easier for you. We will not give up on our commitment or our mission; we will work harder to ensure that together the individuals, small businesses, large corporations, and our government will make the changes we need to save our climate.
Today is a new day with new promise that we have lacked for nearly a decade. We look forward to the new administration and are proud to say that we look forward to continuing to be part of the solution.
