Businesses + Offsets = Happiness

As the nations leading non-profit carbon offset provider, Carbonfund.org has been able to develop relationships with a wide variety of partners. From individuals who want to offset their car emissions to your local dessert shop to the big businesses that want to plant a forest of trees, we work with them all.

Over the last year or so, we have noticed a sharp increase in the number of businesses that are donating to Carbonfund.org to offset their carbon emissions. These businesses come to us becasue of the services that we are able to provide and the high quality certified and third party verified offsets that we are able to support.

A report just came out that supports Carbonfund.org's experience by EcoSecurities and ClimateBiz, stating that a vast majority of businesses these days have a carbon management plan. This should not be all that shocking considering that managing carbon also helps you manage your bottom line by ensuring that you are using your energy efficiently and wisely. But it is nice to know that businesses on the whole are really taking their commiment to the enviroment seriously.

Some key findings of the study:
43% of organisations had already implemented an existing carbon management strategy, with a further 34% of organisations claiming to be in the process of developing one.

74% of all responses indicated that their organisation had already started implementing internal emission reduction activities.

Over 88% of organisations were either currently undertaking carbon offsetting activities or would consider offsetting in the future.

The most desirable project location for the purchase of carbon offsets was North America, closely followed by South America.

Too bad the government does not do more to help subsidize and/or credit environmental responsibility at all levels. This should include all business, large and small and above all consumers themselves. The average Joe does not have the money to invest in alternative energy or ultra high efficient appliances for their house. Many are left on their own to pay full price.

Thanks for the great info.
