Renewable Energy Investment = Economic Revitalization

This piece on ENN is one of the best stories yet on the economic growth that follows from serious renewable energy investment. The piece examines Nolan County in West Texas - an area that had 20 percent of its population living in poverty in the 1990s.

Today, as a result of investment in wind power, Nolan County's tax base has expanded from $500 million in 1999 to $2.4 billion now. The money is being used to renovate and upgrade local schools and infrastructure. Of the county's 14,878 residents, 1,124 have jobs related to wind energy. That equates to one full-time job for every three wind turbines.

dreaming and doing are two things that are entirely different things.
well i conducted a survey(personal) and found out a sparkling fact, that has indeed changed the view i used to relate myself to sustainable and carbon free energy resource.
Well I am from an engineering institute in India named NIT Silchar and found that nearly 943 tonnes of waste are dumped from the adjoining village and college campus everywhere and it widely includes human, animal excrete and vegetable waste.
well significantly enough i dont have fact and figures that would allow me ascertain whether there are any possibilities that biogas could be derived from that. At least my common sense makes me think that it might be enough to make biogas sufficiently for a hostel mess of 30 boarders for a year.
well anyone having stats regarding the amount of biogas to be produced and obviously help me.
waiting for your comments and replies.
