Yet another study, this one from the U.S. Climate Change Science Program, says we can expect more extreme weather as the atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases increases. Among the findings: droughts, heavy downpours, excessive heat, and intense hurricanes are likely to become more commonplace.

The government of Madagascar signed an agreement to preserve large swaths of rainforest, home to thousands of species endemic to the island, by means of avoided deforestation carbon credits. Fossas, lemurs, and other Malagasy fauna continue being awesome.
