Here's to Fewer Candidates, Less Carbon Dioxide

As Iowa voters head out to caucus tonight, remember this: one day of presidential campaigning can emit as much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere as the average American is responsible for in a year, according to a story from Mother Jones. (Carbonfund.org spent considerable time helping the researchers over at Mother Jones compile the necessary information for the story.)

And while the only partisanship Carbonfund.org espouses is on behalf of the environment, we can't help but point out that, sadly, a candidate's success (or lack of it) seems to have little do with how green they are. Still, by tomorrow Iowa voters will have narrowed the plethora of presidential contenders to a considerably smaller group.

So here's to an election that we hope leads to meaningful progress in environmental policy. And in the mean time, here's to fewer candidates and their entourages spewing carbon dioxide emissions going from campaign stop to campaign stop.

I am, as anyone should be, worried about the levels of carbon dioxide in the air, but I think its wrong to think the planet is in trouble.

The planet will continue no matter what, its mankind that faces extinction.

Carbon Dioxide is tree food. Why do you want to eliminate trees by starving them????

What would the Sierra Club do if they had no trees to hug?

I suggest that those who think there is too much CO2 stop adding to it. This is easy, simply stop exhaling........Tom

To "bubbles": a caucus is nothing more than a political gathering. In the case of the Iowa Caucus, it is the first step, in many, to choose Presidential candidates for both the Republican and Democratic parties. I think I read somewhere that the winners of the Iowa Caucus rarely win the Presidential election.
